Orthodontics in Vista
Orthodontics
Orthodontics is an area of dentistry that focuses on correcting teeth
misalignment. Misaligned teeth can cause challenges with eating,
speaking, and even breathing (in severe cases). Orthodontic treatments
are administered by orthodontists who are dental specialists with extra
training to handle bite problems.
Examples of orthodontic treatments
Braces
Braces use a combination of brackets, bands and wires to gradually
shift your teeth into their desired positions over time.
Clear aligners
Clear aligners are increasingly becoming popular because they are
technically invisible. Unlike braces, clear aligners such as Invisalign
do not involve wires passing across your teeth. They offer patients a
discreet way of correcting misaligned teeth. They are worn in a series
with each aligner set shifting your teeth slightly.
Retainers
Retainers are usually worn after an orthodontic treatment to preserve
the results achieved. They technically keep your teeth from drifting out
of their proper positions.
Palate expanders
Palate expanders are used to expand a child’s upper jaw. Only a few
children require pallet expanders.
Advantages of orthodontics
Orthodontic treatments have cosmetic benefits as well as other
benefits such as:

brush. -

disorder. -

disease, and other oral health problems.
